Privacy Policy
Effective date: 29 July 2026 · Last updated: 29 July 2026
NearSphere (“NearSphere”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a hyperlocal discovery and booking app operated by KindSphere. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the NearSphere mobile app and website, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using NearSphere, you agree to this Policy.
Contents
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your mobile phone number (used to sign in via a one-time password), your name, and an optional profile photo.
- Addresses — locality and any addresses you add for at-home services, pickup, or delivery.
- Bookings & requests — the services you request, notes, preferred times, and their status.
- Saved providers — the local providers you save to “My Circle”.
- Community content — posts, questions, recommendations, comments, and reactions you share.
- Provider details — if you register as a provider: business name, category, services, operating hours, service area, and verification information.
- Communications — messages you send to us for support or feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Location — with your permission, your approximate or precise device location to show nearby providers and availability (see “Location data”).
- Device & usage data — device model, operating system, app version, language, and how you interact with the app (screens viewed, actions taken) to operate and improve the service.
- Notification token — a push-notification identifier so we can send booking and account updates.
- Log data — technical logs such as timestamps and error reports. We redact sensitive fields (like phone numbers and addresses) from our logs.
2. How we use your information
- Create and secure your account and verify your identity by OTP.
- Show you nearby shops, services, and providers, and whether they are open or available.
- Let you make and manage bookings, requests, and pickups, and connect you with the provider.
- Send you service communications — such as when a booking is accepted, updated, or cancelled.
- Enable community features and show locality-relevant content.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Maintain safety and security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Understand and improve how the app is used, and develop new features.
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- With providers you interact with. When you make a booking or request, we share the details needed to fulfil it — for example your name, contact, the requested service, and (for at-home or delivery) the relevant address.
- With service providers who work on our behalf (“processors”) — such as authentication, cloud hosting, and push-notification providers — who process data under our instructions. These currently include Google Firebase (phone authentication and push notifications) and Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage).
- For legal reasons — to comply with the law, a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or NearSphere.
- In a business transfer — if NearSphere is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
4. Location data
NearSphere is a hyperlocal service, so location is central to how it works. With your permission, we use your device location to show providers near you, sort results by distance, and pre-fill your locality. You can grant one-time or while-using-the-app access, or select your locality manually instead. You can change or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; some features may be limited without it.
5. Notifications
We send push notifications for things like booking status, provider availability, and important account or local updates. You can control these in your device or app settings. Some essential service messages (for example, security or booking confirmations) may still be sent.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see “Your rights & choices”).
7. Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your account and associated personal information.
- Withdraw consent (for example, location or notifications) — this won’t affect processing done before you withdrew it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these, contact us at priyanka.kshirsagar@kindsphere.in. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. To delete your account and data, see Delete your account & data.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and storing data in private, access-restricted infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any incident.
9. Children’s privacy
NearSphere is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10. Third-party services
We rely on trusted third parties to provide parts of the service, including Google Firebase (phone authentication and push notifications) and Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage). Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies. The app or providers may also link to third-party sites or services that we do not control; this Policy does not apply to those.
11. Where your data is stored
Your information is stored and processed on cloud infrastructure operated by our service providers. Where data is transferred or processed outside your country, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of NearSphere after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
